If you live in the Louisville area and are a non-Catholic, a lapsed Catholic, or even a practicing Catholic who would like to know more about our Faith, St. Martin of Tours Church has several programs that can help you get the information you need. These include the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, Bible Study groups, and more. For information, please call the rectory at (502) 582-2827.
Eucharistic Adoration is the subject of one of the beautiful windows here at St. Martin's. The church is open 24 hours a day for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Divine Mercy Chapel. No appointments are necessary, but if you would like to sign up to keep a regularly scheduled Holy Hour once a week, call the rectory.
Two of the saints depicted in the windows here were well-known for their Christian charity. Through the Schuhmann Center, St. Martin's parishioners seek to imitate Christ and His saints by helping the poor. For more information, call 589-6696.
Three windows here depict Mary carrying Jesus in her womb. Our parish has been very involved in local pro-life activities. These include hosting the annual Walk for Life and the Archdiocesan "Respect Life Mass". Parishioners also help to discourage abortion by providing assistance to pregnant women and needy mothers through the Golden Arrow ministry. To help us save innocent lives, call (502) 589-3537.
For those who have lost unborn children through miscarriage or abortion, one step in the healing process may be to give that child a name. St. Martin's will enter your child's name in a book on Mary's altar. No questions will be asked about the nature of your unborn child's death. If you need this ministry, you may pick up a form from the table in the back of the church.
A lending library, stocked with books, videos, audio cassettes, etc., is operated by Our Lady's Center for Peace. This is located in the gray building between the rear parking lot and the rectory. Gifts such as rosaries, medals, statues, Catholic stationery, etc. are also available for purchase. For operating hours, call (502) 568-MARY.
There are many other ministries here, including religious education for children, a Rosary-making club, a Purgatorial Society, and much more. Call the rectory at (502) 582-2827 to learn more.
See a copy of the parish's Sunday bulletin for scheduled times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the celebration of Mass (including a weekly Tridentine Rite Latin Mass).
